Our Team.

Over the last 3 years we have had a team of 10 volunteers who have been helping to turn the garden project into a reality, meeting every month to plan each stage as we have worked out the lease with Surrey County Council, obtained charitable status, sought planning permission, worked out the garden layout with our designer Karen Blight, raised funds and stayed in touch with our community. We have appointed 4 members of the team as the Trustees of our charity

Since retiring from a career in Retail, Helen has enjoyed getting involved in local community activities including Walking for Health and a tennis club.

Deepa Craig, Trustee

Deepa is local resident and works in charity finance. She has a keen interest in gardening and community-led projects. She is also a school governor.

Martin Brunet, trustee

Martin has been a GP at Binscombe since 2001. A passion for wellbeing combined with his love of gardening has made it natural to get involved with FCG.

Heather Hullah

Heather is a Godalming Town Councillor, Binscome Ward with a passion for gardening. She is a keen environmentalist, enjoying the tranquility of woodland

Andrew has been a GP at Binscombe Medical Centre for many years and has seen his love of gardening, and working on his allotment blossom in recent years. He would love to be a beekeeper!

Andrew Cook

Andrew is a GP at Binscombe and has seen his love of gardening blossom in recent years, along with the produce at his allotment! He dreams of being a beekeeper!

John Blades

John is a local resident, allotmenteer and conservationist. He has long supported FCG and looks forward to helping the community pick the metaphorical fruit.

Tessa Woodley-Rudge

Tessa is a local resident and a keen, if somewhat amateur, gardener. She heard of FCG through Walking for Health. Can often be seen walking her dog in the area.

Karen Blight, our Garden Designer

Karen is a freelance garden designer and lecturer in garden design at Merrist Wood who is passionate about creating spaces that enhance a sense of wellbeing.

Elaine Phipps

Elaine is delighted to support FCG, having been a Farncombe resident since early childhood. She is a keen gardener, with a passion for planting to encourage wildlife.
